BEA to put up 22nd branch in China
By June, Bank of East Asia will have 22 branches in the Chinese mainland.
The new branch of the Hong Kong based bank will be established in Harbin, the capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province which borders Russia, said Lau Kin Wai, team leader of the Harbin branch preparatory committee with BEA China, reports Xinhua News Agency.
It will be BEA China's third branch in northeast China, an area the bank views as having great potential. The Dalian and Shenyangn branches, both in northeast China's Liaoning Province, were running well, said Lau.
The Harbin branch will aim to serve local enterprises as well as developing international business, he added.
