Korean Banks plan to establish 27 overseas branches
China and Vietnam were the most popular host countries of the branches that Kookmin Bank, Hana Bank and the Industrial Bank will open.
Korean banks are looking to tap on more overseas customers starting this year.
The Financial Supervisory Service in Korea announced on Monday that local banks are planning to establish a total of 27 additional overseas branches in 2011.
According to the board, Kookmin Bank hopes to open five more branches outside of the country Hana Bank looks to establish four more and the Industrial Bank three.
China and Vietnam were the most popular host countries of the branches.
