Prince Bank takes home Asian Management Excellence Awards for employee engagement initiative
The strategy focused on fostering a sense of belonging and strengthening team collaboration.
Commercial bank Prince Bank bagged the win in the Cambodia Employee Engagement of the Year - Banking category in the inaugural Asian Management Excellence Awards for its Employee Engagement and Culture Embedment strategy that created a positive and inclusive work environment for employees.
The Employee Engagement and Culture Embedment strategy is intended to improve employer-employee connectivity whilst strengthening inter-organisational engagement through a series of activities focused on building a culture of alignment and collaboration, promoting open communication, and embracing change and innovation within the bank.
One of the key components of this strategy is the company’s commitment to open communication and transparency. It kicked off a business townhall meeting in early July, where employees had the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and hear business updates and inspirations from the senior leadership.
Afterwards, the team launched consecutive self-awareness, open communication, and team-building activities that are aimed to establish better team collaboration and self-awareness by breaking down silos and further encouraging constructive communication amongst employees.
Prince Bank also focused on work-life balance by initiating wellness programmes such as regular running and walking activities. These programmes aim to improve employees’ physical fitness, reduce stress, boost mental well-being, and enhance overall health. In addition, these have helped create a sense of community and camaraderie amongst employees.
The Employee Engagement and Culture Embedment strategy has had a transformative impact on Prince Bank, as it has created a workplace where employees feel valued, supported in their growth, celebrated for their differences, and encouraged to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
“By prioritising employee engagement and culture embedment, we aim to improve overall job satisfaction, productivity, and retention rates. Whilst we are waiting to see the official results from the employee engagement survey to be conducted later this year, we have observed and heard some of our employees talking about some feedback and also key messages that were embedded in our strategy,” the company said.
