More than 7 in 10 workers fear their jobs will be replaced by tech

But the majority said adopting tech is needed to future-proof their business.

A whopping 76% of Malaysian and Singaporean employees polled are worried that their jobs will be replaced by technology, Employment Hero showed in its study.

With over 300 workers in the professional industry polled, more than eight in 10 said they find adopting disruptive tech is needed to future-proof their business and clients.

All those who were polled said they are using one type of client-servicing software.

When it comes to payroll, respondents said their main challenges are manual or paper-based processes taking up too much time (22%), unique payroll scenarios (22%), and chasing clients for payroll data (22%).

When it comes to the perception of payroll as a service, responses are lukewarm and split between two camps, with 17% of practitioners thinking that payroll services drive additional revenue, 15% who think payroll services are not profitable.
