NIIT China's EdTech transformation earns recognition at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards

Their successful pivot to EdTech and its strategic partnership with Red Hat for online training programmes secured the China Technology Excellence Award for Digital - Training and Development, highlighting their commitment to digital education.


NIIT China (Shanghai) Ltd., a pioneer in digital education, is delighted to announce its recent triumph at the esteemed Asian Technology Excellence Awards China. The company has been honoured with the China Technology Excellence Award for Digital - Training and Development.

In a world significantly impacted by the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, NIIT swiftly adapted to the changing landscape by transforming into an EdTech company, transitioning from traditional in-classroom training to a dynamic digital platform. 

As a pivotal part of this digital metamorphosis, NIIT China introduced a portfolio of its StackRoute deep-skilling IT boot camp programmes and Red Hat Technologies programmes on its platform, accessible at Training-China.com. The spotlight of this recognition shines on the successful launch of the Red Hat Technologies online programme, which officially went live on the 1st of March, 2023.

In July 2022, NIIT China and Red Hat solidified their partnership through an exclusive agreement, designating NIIT China as the premium partner for Red Hat Online Training and Certification across Mainland China. In March 2023, the inaugural Red Hat online courses were introduced to China's thriving open-source technology community via Training-China.com.

The collaborative efforts of NIIT China and Red Hat have yielded three primary products. The first, Virtual Training, harnesses the expertise of Red Hat's seasoned trainers to provide learners with an immersive classroom experience through virtual platforms. For those seeking flexibility or cost-effective options, Self-Paced Learning offers 90 days of unlimited access to select courses and up to 80 hours of virtual lab time for practical application. 

Additionally, Red Hat Learning Subscription caters to dedicated learners of open-source technology, providing a full year of unrestricted access to all available Red Hat courses and up to 400 hours of virtual lab time. These courses are meticulously designed to offer hands-on experience, complemented by comprehensive learning resources and support structures.

Since its launch in March, the Red Hat Online Training programme has witnessed a substantial enrollment of learners from both retail and corporate sectors. The inaugural batch of Virtual Training, delivered in May, received an outstanding rating of 5 out of 5 from learners. 

Notable industry giants and state-owned enterprises, including Dell, Industrial Bank of China, and China Mobile, have entrusted their IT teams to be trained in the latest Red Hat technologies. The Training-China.com platform has consistently provided a stable and advanced learning environment, fostering virtual lab practices.

In a concerted effort to elevate the training and certification experience for both corporate and individual learners, NIIT China and Red Hat have increased their investments in research and development in China, focusing on high-end technology courses previously challenging to access in the region. Going forward, learners will be able to take their certification exam on the NIIT platform, in addition to taking them at proctored testing centre locations in mainland China.

Training-China.com, operated by NIIT China, serves as an up-skilling and deep-skilling platform catering to early career students, working professionals, and corporate entities across China. The platform now hosts an array of Red Hat online offerings in addition to NIIT's StackRoute courses. In alignment with the evolving business landscape in China, a mobile version of Training-China.com is now accessible via Tencent WeChat's Mini-Program, empowering Chinese customers to effortlessly view, select, and purchase desired courses using their mobile devices.
