Malaysia’s Silverlake Axis bags awards in Banking Technology categories

Different approaches from various teams and leaders led to their utmost success.

Silverlake Axis has demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing its brand and communication strategies, leading to its recognition as the Team of the Year - Banking Technology. The company recognised the need to address inconsistencies in branding and communication, both internally and externally, prompting strategic planning and tactical executions in areas such as marketing, public relations (PR), and communications.

The PR, Marketing & Communications team, in collaboration with various agencies, formulated solutions that emphasised Silverlake Axis’ core values - Experience, Expertise, and Execution. Simultaneously, the team launched the “One Silverlake” initiative, aiming to create a unified brand identity that fosters consistency in communication both within the organisation and with external stakeholders. This concerted effort included a robust media presence with 350 media placements in 2022 and 2023.

These initiatives proved successful, leading to new customers and partnerships, including notable entities such as EXIM Bank Thailand, Bank Mantap Indonesia, Deem Finance, and SCB Thailand. Since the beginning of the fiscal year 2021, Silverlake Axis saw a significant 22% increase in revenue. The positive trend continued into 2022, with an additional rise of 18% in revenue, as well as a substantial growth in EBIDTA (14%) and net profit (28%). Additionally, the group has boosted the employer brand with efficient internal communication, which resulted in an increase in job applications and employee satisfaction reached an impressive 85%.

Cassandra Goh, Executive Director of Silverlake Axis, was rightfully honoured with the Executive of the Year - Banking Technology award at the Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2023. Since assuming her role in 2018, Goh has been instrumental in introducing modern and forward-thinking approaches, steering the organisation towards becoming product-and-people-driven.

Under Goh's leadership, Silverlake Axis continues to introduce novel innovations such as CloudLink, architected and designed for Orchestration of All Ecosystems, Systems, Cloud, Data and AI. It enables all businesses, partners and FSIs to co-exist and collaborate seamlessly, securely, synergistically with simplicity. This is the very key Pillar and Differentiator for New Gen Core Banking Platform. Concurrently, the wellness application "DEBI" aimed at managing employee physical and mental health has been introduced throughout the group to promote healthy activities, fostering a supportive environment amongst employees. Goh's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion has notably increased the number of women in senior managerial positions, contributing to a positive transformation in workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

Goh's strategic leadership extended to restructuring and leading Silverlake's M&A activities, enhancing the overall value of the Group. Her role at the Strategic Investment Committee and Chairman, along with her promotion to Deputy CEO in May 2022, underscore her significant impact on the company's trajectory. Effective from October 2023, Goh is now the Deputy Executive Chairman for Silverlake Axis.

The group’s strategic plans and reformation efforts bore fruit, evident in the group's remarkable financial results. Overall, Silverlake Axis's calculated and integrated approach across subsidiaries, coupled with Cassandra Goh's visionary leadership, and transformation has paved  the company for unprecedented success.
