BTMU strengthens Islamic finance services in Malaysia
Japanese bank pioneers in offering Islamic products and services.
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) continued to increase its profile in the Islamic banking sector with the launch of four new Islamic products. Its Malaysian office hopes the new products will enhance its competitiveness globally.
Its goal is to become the center for Islamic finance within the group. BTMU Malaysia CEO Masato Nakamura said the offerings mark a milestone for BTMU in providing alternative and attractive Islamic financing solutions to our customers and strengthen the economic ties between Malaysia and Japan.
"The new product lines unlock new business opportunities to improve our financing and fee-based income," she said.
BTMU began operating in Malaysia in 1957 and is the longest serving Japanese bank in the country.
