Bursa Malaysia names Dato' Tajuddin Atan CEO
Atan has 24 years experience in finance and banking industry as well as familiarity to the Malaysian capital market and the exchange business.
Bursa Malaysia has appointed Dato' Tajuddin Atan as its new CEO effective 1 April 2011. He will take over from Dato' Yusli Mohamed Yusoff.
Atan has nearly 24 years experience in the finance and banking industry. He is currently the managing director of RHB Bank and group managing director of RHB Capital since May 2009 and July 2009 respectively.
Prior to heading RHB Group, Atan was appointed to helm Bank Pembangunan Malaysia as its president/group managing director in December 2007.
He also served as the CEO of Bank Simpanan Nasional from October 2004 till 2007.
Atan commenced his career with Bank Bumiputra Commerce where his 17-year tenure included a four-year stint managing the bank's New York branch.
Atan is familiar to the Malaysian capital market and the exchange business as he currently serves as a non-executive director and public interest director of the Board of Bursa Malaysia since July 2008.
