Nomura appoints Junko Nakagawa CFO and director
The lender also named Jasjit Bhattai as deputy president coinciding the delegation of its first female CFO.
Nomura Holdings Inc said Monday it has appointed Junko Nakagawa as the first female chief financial officer and full-time director at Japan’s top brokerage group, effective April 1.
Nakagawa, 45, joined Nomura Securities Co in 1988 and left the firm in 2004 to accompany her husband on an overseas assignment. She rejoined Nomura in 2008 after returning to Japan and currently holds the post of co-deputy CFO, as stated in a report in Japan Today.
Nomura also said it has named Senior Managing Director Jasjit Bhattal as deputy president, effective April 1. Bhattal joined Nomura from U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc, which went bust in 2008.
